beka — senior portrait huffman

beka entertains you.

she is full of energy and has a contagious, playful spirit — and in case you were wondering… yeah! — we like those kind a lot.

we met up with beka and her great family for a late spring senior portrait session and some laughs. true, we’re often guilty of shamelessly jumping at the chance to try new things with our style of portrait photography — maybe try out some different angles, unusual landscapes and new props — but in this instance our subjects were a huffman hargrave high school cheerleader and her family horse misty. a first for us. hummm.

while we’re not scared to flub an occasional shoot you understand — we’re sometimes unsure of what we’re walking in to .…how would a horse react to flashing lights and strangers pointing nikon camera gear right at them? how does one light a horse exactly? oh-well, should be fun.

well, take a look for yourselves and judge us (kindly we hope)… and remember we’re new to some of this. good luck beka — we have a feeling you’re going to do just fine.

savannah — senior portrait tomball

savannah is cool under pressure.

we met savannah and her mom on a sunny saturday afternoon in The Woodlands at the mall and we could not have been more happy to have spent a few hours getting to know them both better. so much like family.

we all decided to take a chance and do her senior photo shoot in the middle of a mall crowd since that is where this senior feels most comfortable…shopping. privately we know that is not always the easiest setting to get a senior to feel at ease during a photo shoot. feels forced sometimes… not to worry though — this young lady had the poise to pull it off and look great doing it. (even when we were chased away because we neglected to get “photo-permission release” from the rather “no-nonsense-looking” security team…who knew?)

take a look at just a few of the over 1100 images we captured of savannah in those 3 hours and see if you spot the crowds and the chaos…and the poise that this young lady has loads of. nice.

thanks savannah and mom.

you guys are family.

justin — senior portrait huffman

justin is a great sport.

we met up with justin and his cool mom and girlfriend a week or so ago on a sunny sunday afternoon and we all decided to go where the afternoon took us. maybe look for some out-of-the-way spots where we could take some senior pictures.…and, “oh yeah” he through in .…. - “let’s find some graffiti”. now while huffman texas is an absolutely great place to live and work — we’ve quickly learned that there is no graffiti to be found in the 77336 zip code.

so mom being a quick thinker like she is did the only thing a graffiti-hunting, senior-loving mom can do and that is to hit the google. clickety-clickety-click and bang! we were on the trail. oh sure, we slipped in a few nature shots to satisfy some of the more traditional types — but make no mistake…this was a shoot with colors. cool colors.

take a look at a few of the shots we worked with justin to capture and take a minute to absorb all those colors. really cool.

we had a great afternoon and got to know justin a lot better and we had a blast.

thanks justin —

Haley — senior portrait huffman

Haley is a natural.

We met Haley and her very cool family for a senior portrait photo session down in Galveston and boy did we all move quickly that day. There is just so much great ground to cover in Galveston on a sunny saturday afternoon you hate to miss any. from old abandoned trolley cars to the historic strand…not a minute to waste if we’re going to catch the sunset — and what a sunset.

haley was a confident pro for the camera, and didn’t lose her cool even when we had her pose right in the middle of post office street on the strand, on a chaotic saturday evening.…in front of a policeman…wow! confidence.

take a look at a few of the pictures we worked with haley to capture. we had a blast and made a note for the next time we’re down in galveston…bring running shoes!

thank you so much haley — it’s been a pleasure to get to know you and your family.

Michael — Kingwood Senior Portrait Session

Michael is focused. And..(ironically)…easy-going at the same time — two traits you don’t often see in the same young man.

We met Michael and his really cool family a while back for a senior portrait session at Kingwood Park High School and learned a thing or two about swimming competitively…namely, you don’t just show up and win for as many years as he has without a huge dose of dedication. Intensive practice early, weight workouts, nutrition…and yikes! shaving your head. We’re impressed with you Michael. Take a quick look at his championship-winning ways here.

Take a look at a few shots from our wide-ranging photo session and help us wish Michael well in college — he’s gonna be just fine!

Good Luck Michael
